Cath Davies

Cath Davies began aikido in 1981 at the age of 13 under the instruction of David Bushell Sensei.  When Bushell Sensei retired in 1987, she continued to study under Peter Brady Shihan who has been her main technical influence since this time.

As well as training in the UK, she has travelled to Japan, America and Finland and has trained with the Third Doshu and many Shihan of note, including Morihiro Saito Shihan, Nobuyoshi Tamura Shihan, Yoshimitsu Yamada Shihan, Kazuo Chiba Shihan, Seiichi Sugano Shihan, Seishiro Endo Shihan, Yukimitsu Kobayashi Shihan and Shigeru Sugawara Shihan.

Since 1999, Cath’s aikido practice and development has been strongly influenced by Endo Sensei.

Cath has held the rank of 6th dan Aikikai since 2013.  She is a Shidoin of the United Kingdom Aikikai and a Senior Coach of the Joint Aikikai Council.
